Making Progress

Yes, your eyes aren't cheating to you, this is a new post on my Blog.

I made the last month a lot of progress, I nearly finished the MSN and the Yahoo group chat support. And even if I have to work with a little bit buggy libs for my Project, I have fun with it and fully enjoy this nice Summer of Code/Coding.

Now I am at the point where I start feeling comfortable with the architecture style of the sip-communicator and I think I can start to do a little bit more complicated work at the sip-communicator. I'll try to implement some new dialogs for invitations and a better Dialog for the group chat creation dialog. And I think I have also to do some updates for the history storage, but I have to collect some more ideas for that.

I have a great team at my side, so I am sure I will finish this Project with a result that will help to enlarge the sip-communicator community.

Maybe I upload some screenshot of the working group chat, and maybe I try to build some design builds for the new dialogs.

Hello Coding Period!

Today is the day, the Google Sommer of Code 2008 has begun!

The timeline for the next three month is really simple - three protocols and three month.
But I try to finish the work on the basic group chat implementation for the three protocol as fast as possible, so maybe I've got time at the end for some goodies.

SO HAVE A NICE SUMMER!

Bye, Rup.

Bye Bye Community Bonding Period

Nothing really special happened the last four weeks, I was a little bit lazy to do my weekly updates on this blog, but I promise I try to change that.

I get in touch with Yana, Damian and Emil from the Sip-Communicator dev-team and I am still happy that I picked this nice project and of course I am also happy that THEY picked me for this project.

After consultation with my mentor(s) I have started coding a week ago on the group chat support for the MSN protocol. I have created my first classes and start having really fun working on it!

The very beginning

Welcome everyone!
This Summer I'll spend on implementing group chat support for several protocols (ICQ, MSN and Yahoo) for the SIP-Communicator (sip-communicator.org).

At the moment I spend my time on cleaning up my mail account, and read introductions, payment issues and CPWhateverT things from guys all around the world. Never was so excited about that tons of spam. I am also reading the dev-mailinglist archive and the new messages and hanging around in IRC, unfortunately only on times where Yana isn't online, reading inside the sourcecode and so on.
I am looking forward to receive my subproject on java.net and start coding.

So that's it. Stay alive!
